QB Chris Simms got his second start of the year, but as his performance showed he still has much to learn. The Buccaneers fell to the Cardinals 12 to 7 and ends, for most Bucs fans, a very painful season. Now it's time to start preparing for the NFL Draft and make sure we re-sign our key players. This year's draft will be the first time the Bucs will have a full compliment of draft picks since 1999. In the first round we pick 5th, "Tampa Bay Buccaneers you are now on the clock".
GAME STATS

The Carolina Panthers pounded the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37 to 20 last Sunday. That makes it a sweep of the Bucs for the second year in a row. The day after Christmas and the Bucs left their fans feeling like they found coal in their stockings. The only bright spot for the Bucs was the play of their sensational rookie WR Michael Clayton. Clayton caught 4 passes for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Now that the playoffs are out of the question its time to prepare for next year. With QB Brian Griese banged up a little, the Bucs may give QB Chris Simms his second start this year against the Arizona Cardinals......
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers lost a close game in the 4th quarter to the New Orleans Saints 21 to 17. It was reminiscent of last year's Monday night debacle to the Indianapolis Colts where the Colts scored 3 touchdowns late to steal the game away from the Bucs. The scenario played out much the same way with the Bucs dominating the Saints the whole game only allowing them to score on a Special Teams play. Much like the Colts game, we self-destructed in the fourth quarter, turning the ball over and playing too conservative on defense. It's time to build for next year. I would like to see what Simms could do for the remaining games this year. This weekend we play the Panthers and we don't need any motivation to get up for this game......
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers lose their 6th road game of the season to the San Diego Chargers 31 to 24. Believe it or not the Bucs still have a slim chance of making the playoffs. The Bucs offense gave fans a glimpse of what this season might have been if they were healthy all year. The Bucs play 2 of their last 3 games at home. The New Orleans Saints come calling this Sunday. The Bucs would love nothing more than to beat the Saints twice this year.....
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers win impressively 27 to 0 over Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons. The Bucs offense was clicking on all cylinders posting 27 points on the Falcons. Kicker Jay Taylor was perfect in his Bucs' debut connecting on 3 extra points and 2 field goals, one from 30 yards and another from 50 yards. The Bucs defense reminded the Bucs fans of the 2003 Super Bowl defense as they pitched a shutout against the Falcons. The Bucs' next match up against the Chargers in San Diego is a must win game if the Bucs are to keep their playoff hopes alive.....
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers lose another nail biter, this time to the Carolina Panthers 21 to 14. It seemed like deja vu with Martin Gramatica missing 2 field goals and having a third blocked, then QB Jake Delhomme completing a pass for a touchdown with seconds left in the game to win. This game had the same ingredients that cost the Bucs a win in both games last year all rolled up in one. The Bucs need to win out if they have any chance to make the playoffs. A win against the Falcons this weekend is a must have to get the ball rolling.......
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers bounce back nicely with a 35 to 3 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Don't look now, but the Buccaneers are starting to get healthy just in time to make a run for a wildcard spot. WR Joe Jurevicius looks healthy, scoring not 1 but 2 touchdowns. This was the 1st touchdown for Jurevicius since the first game of the 2003 season. Not to be out done, RB Michael Pittman also had a good game rushing for 106 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns of his own. The Buccaneers travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers this weekend in what should be a closely contested game......
GAME STATS

QB Brian Griese was sacked 7 times as the Falcons defeated the Bucs 24 to 14. The offensive line play was so bad that each of the Bucs starting linemen accounted for at least one penalty during the game. On a positive note, rookie wide receiver Michael Clayton had a good game and recorded another touchdown. The 49ers come calling this weekend and this is a must win game for the Bucs. The Bucs need too much help to win the division and now must start to think about getting a Wild Card spot. .....
GAME STATS

QB Brian Griese turned in another solid performance passing for 296 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB Michael Pittman scored 3 touchdowns rushing for 128 yards leading the Bucs past the Chiefs 34 to 31. The Bucs were clicking on all cylinders with the exception of kicker Martin Gramatica who continues to struggle missing a short field goal and an extra point. The Bucs are showing signs of life. The next game this weekend against the Falcons is a must win if they want to get back into the race....
GAME STATS

WR Joe Jurevicius saw his first action in over a year. RB Michael Pittman had a big game rushing for 109 yards and a touchdown to lead the Buccaneers to a 19 to 7 victory. FB Mike Alstott did suffer a knee injury during the game and will be out for at least 4 weeks. Next week the Bucs have a bye. This will give Gurden two weeks to prepare for Kansas City. Things may finally be looking up for the Bucs. WR Joey Galloway might be ready for the game against the Chiefs. ....
GAME STATS

Fumbles by both Tim Brown and Michael Pittman contributed to the Bucs' 21 to 28 loss on Monday Night Football. The Bucs' defense looked good and was able to provide pressure on Marc Bulger for most of the night. QB Brian Griese and wide receiver Michael Clayton both looked good for the second week in a row. The Bucs may have a quarterback controversy on their hands when Simms returns.....
GAME STATS

The Bucs Win! The Bucs Win! After QB Chris Sims went out early in the first half with a shoulder injury you could hear every fan in Tampa Bay gasp in horror. QB Brian Griese stepped in and helped lead the Bucs passed the Saints 20 to 17 for the Bucs first win of the season. The Bucs defense also came up big holding the Saints to just 17 points and scoring a touchdown on a Ronde Barber fumble return. .....
GAME STATS

The Buccaneer's favorite son John Lynch returned to Tampa on Sunday to a standing ovation from the Bucs' fans. RB Michael Pittman started for the Bucs, returning some of the firepower to Gruden's offense. The Bucs defense played good early only to wear down late in the fourth quarter giving up big plays and making costly penalties on the way to a 16 to 13 loss.....
GAME STATS

The Buccaneers lose 30 to 20 in the Super Bowl XXXVII rematch to the Oakland Raiders. The Bucs lost more than just a game losing RB Charlie Garner for the season with a knee injury, while TE Rickey Dudley will be out for a few weeks with a fractured thumb. It's time for Gruden to make some changes before the season is lost. On the bright side the Bucs will have RB Michael Pittman back this weekend. ....GAME STATS

Gruden pulls Johnson for Simms to try and give the Buccaneers' offense a spark. Simms' play showed some signs of what the future will hold for the Bucs, but that wasn't enough to pull out a win. The Bucs lose a close one in a defensive battle to the Seahawks 6 to 10. The Bucs' defense played well and is on their way to reestablishing themselves as one of the league's elite defenses.....GAME STATS
