The fireworks between Nebraska and Michigan State started a few days before the Alamo Bowl. Michigan State was still talking smack during the game. After all was said and done, Nebraska let their playing do their talking defeating the Spartans 17 to 3. Any Questions?....

The Huskers go into Boulder and defeat Colorado 31 to 22 despite all the distractions regarding head coach Frank Solich. This brings the Huskers record for the year to 9 and 3 and with a win in a bowl game the Huskers could finish the year with a 10 and 3 record.... FULL STORY

The Kansas State Wildcats come into Lincoln and totally dominated the Nebraska Huskers 38 to 9. The Wildcats beat the Huskers in Lincoln for the first time since 1968.... FULL STORY

The Huskers go on the road and grind out a victory 24-3 against the Kansas Jayhawks. The No Shirt defense didn't dominate the Jayhawks, but came up with turnovers and big stops when needed. IB Cory Ross had the hot hand and led the Huskers in the second half.... FULL STORY

The Blackshirts earn their second shutout of the year defeating Iowa State 28 to 0. Isaiah Fluellen, a wide receiver, was the leading rusher for the Cornhuskers and quarterback Joe Daily played for 2 and a half quarters in the victory....FULL STORY

The Blackshirts bounced back after an embarrassing 27 point fourth quarter that was surrendered to Missouri. This was the Cornhuskers' 35th consecutive Homecoming win. The 7th ranked Cornhuskers took their number 1 ranked defense into Missouri late Saturday to take on the Tigers. In a wet game, the Cornhuskers proved to be no match for Brad Smith and the Tigers. Missouri beat the Cornhuskers 41 to 24 thanks to 5 turnovers and poor tackling late in the game. Missouri ended their losing streak to Nebraska that had lasted since 1978....FULL STORY

The Cornhuskers scored 30 points in a 30 to 0 rout over the Troy State Trojans. The Trojans came into Lincoln full of confidence after last week's upset victory over Marshall. On Thursday night, Nebraska laced it up against Southern Miss on ESPN in front of a national audience. Nebraska beat Southern Miss 38 to 14 with strong contributions from its defense, running attack and even its passing game. The Huskers dared Penn State to stop their running attack. I-back Josh Davis in his most impressive performance to date ran for a total of 179 yards on 32 attempts. Combined with his return yards, Davis had 237 all purpose yards to lead the Huskers to a 18 to 10 win over Joe Paterno's Penn State Nittany Lions. Quarterback Jammal Lord ran for 120 yards on 20 attempts and had 1 touchdown....FULL STORY

The Blackshirt defense turned in another solid performance in a 31 to 7 victory over Utah State. Utah State was held to 178 yards passing and only 60 yards rushing. For the second game in a row, the Blackshirts allowed a score early only to make adjustments and shut out their opponent the rest of the game. 78,058 Husker fans and 800 former players were on hand to witness Nebraska's 17th straight season opener win. Nebraska beat the 24th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys 17 to 7 with a strong showing from Bo Pelini's Blackshirt defense. The Cowboys averaged 411 yards of total offense last year, but were held only to 183 yards of total offense Saturday and only 57 yards in the second half. The Cowboys scored on their first drive and then the Blackshirts pitched a perfect shutout the rest of the game....FULL STORY

The big powerhouses are concentrated near the top of the polls and towards the bottom you have some new faces.
