On March 16 and 17, 2007, We took Elizabeth to Walt Disney World for the first time. We stayed the night and went to Magic Kingdom on Friday and Animal Kingdom on Saturday. We didn't tell her what we were doing until we were in the car on the way up. You can see her reaction under Cameron Videos. Of course at Magic Kingdom you must see the princesses. Elizabeth was able to meet Snow White, Cinderella, Belle and Ariel, her favorite right now. We tried to ride rides, but Elizabeth would have nothing to do with them. We ended up riding a couple of boat tour type rides and seeing a few shows. At Animal Kingdom it was the same thing. No rides, but lots of shows. Elizabeth was even in one of the shows. She was called up on stage at the Lion King show (see Cameron Videos.) She did get to ride the Safari ride and see the animals. Overall it was a good time and we are going back one more day this year so maybe we will hit one of the other parks.
On November 26, 2005, Elizabeth had her first adventure on a boat. Robert bought a fishing boat from our neighbor and this was the first chance we got to take Elizabeth out. She loved it! She had so much fun waving to all the other boaters. She also got to drive the boat. Nicole hasn't even done that! She's a natural.
On February 26, 2005, Elizabeth had her first official haircut today. Nicole has been cutting it, but we figured its about time to get it professionally done. She was so good. Nicole had planned on having her hair cut first to show Elizabeth it wasn't scary, but as soon as we got there she just jumped right up in the big chair. She was very excited and had a fish smock on. She just loves fish! She sat so still and straight. We were so proud of her.
On December 30, 2004, we took Elizabeth to Busch Gardens for the first time. She road on a ride by herself, it was an airplane ride. Robert took her on her first big ride. It was the flume. She had fun until it went to the big hill and she got wet. We had to change her immediately into dry clothes when she got off. Busch Gardens is known for its animals. Elizabeth loved looking at them all, especially the tigers. She also liked the lions. She kept referring to them as Simba and Nala from the Lion King. We road a train that goes off into a safari area. There was a baby rhino there who loved taking on the train headon. We took Tarrah with us and Elizabeth and Tarrah had a sleep over. This was Elizabeth's first official sleep over, and she loved it!
On December 10, 2004, we got a puppy for Christmas. Her name is Sadie. She is half Lab and half Collie. She adores Elizabeth and Elizabeth loves her. Sadie is very smart and is learning how to walk on a leash. Robert takes her for walks twice a day.
Halloween 2004 was spent at Grandma and Grandpa's house again this year. They have the best neighborhood to go trick or treating. Elizabeth was a dalmation. It took me a month to find the right costume. All Elizabeth could talk about was being a dog. Her favorite stuffed animal is Spot (a dalmation) so she had to be one for Halloween. It was then that we decided it was time for a dog.
In May 2004 we went to Nebraska for Danny's Graduation. This was Elizabeth's first airplane ride. She did great, according to Robert. I kept running out of patience, because she is just so good at home and was a little unruly on the plane.
On May 1, 2004 Nicole graduated from USF. Elizabeth got to come to her graduation. We didn't get to see her much though as she only stayed for a short time and Grandma and Grandpa took her home to wait for us. She didn't understand what the fuss was all about, but she will one day.
On September 11, 2003, Elizabeth turned two. We took her to the zoo for her birthday. It was a beautiful day and she loved riding around in her stroller. Her favorite animal was the tiger. She bounced up and down in her seat and could barely contain herself when we saw it. It was a great day for the family and we enjoyed being together.
In July 2003, we took our very first family vacation. We went to Bradenton Beach and rented a condo with a couple friend of ours who have an eight month old little boy, Peyton. We were a little worried whether Elizabeth would like the swimming pool (she has never been in a pool.) So Nicole worked with Elizabeth in our little blow up pool. However, we had nothing to worry about. When we got to the condo, we all went in the pool and she took to it like she had been swimming since she was born. We also had a chance to go to the beach. Elizabeth loved walking along the shoreline, but did not like going into the water. Peyton on the other hand loved the beach. He is going to be a regular beach bum!
In December 2002, Elizabeth had her first school picture taken. She got to meet Santa and surprisingly wasn't afraid of his long beard. Her second Christmas card was greeted with mixed emotions. Some people loved it, others were not so sure and others said it grew on them. Well we liked it and thought it showed some personality. Elizabeth's second Christmas, which was at Grandma and Grandpa's house, was more exciting than the first. She was old enough to open her own presents and was very excited. Grandma and Grandpa gave her a kitchenette which she will play with for hours on end. Aunt Michele gave her a grocery cart to help keep her kitchen well stocked. On Christmas Day at Mommy and Daddy's, she was really surprised to see that there were more presents under the tree for her. She had a good time opening the gifts and didn't really care what they were.
In November 2002, Elizabeth got to participate in her first beauty contest. She participated in the Nativity Church's Novemberfest contest. She won first place for her age group and you can see her pictured with her Princess trophy.
In October 2002, Elizabeth graduated to the 1 year old class in her school. She is no longer a baby girl, now she is a big girl. Elizabeth got to go trick or treating for the first time. She was a ladybug and as you can see she was very hesitant at first. However, as the night went on she got the hang of it and by the time she made it back to Grandma's house she was an old pro.
September 2002: Elizabeth's first birthday was very special. One of the local radio stations had a big party at the Florida Aquarium for all September 11 birthday children. Elizabeth got to meet a local celebrity - Nancy Alexander who works for Fox News Channel 14 and Mix 100.7 FM. The sponsors were very excited and overwhelmed at the number of people that showed up for the party. The Aquarium was packed. They had events such as clowns and magicians and Elizabeth and Nicole had a caricature done of themselves.
Later we had a gathering at Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate. Her favorite gift was a bike that her Aunt Tarrah gave her. She also got to eat sweets for the first time and dove right into her birthday cake.
Elizabeth Cameron was born on September 11, 2001. Like most Americans, it is a day we all soon won't forget. We can tell the very first day that Elizabeth was going to be a very happy baby. This web page is dedicated to Elizabeth and the memories we have of her first experiences as she begins her life. For example, as most of us will recall, her first Christmas card, which my wife and I made ourselves or the first time Elizabeth saw a baseball game. In June 2002, Nicole and I were able to take Elizabeth and my brother and sisters and their friends to a Tampa Bay Devil Rays game. We were the guest of Fox Sports Net and got to view the game from their luxury box. I remember Aimee and Elizabeth having the time of their life watching the game. Elizabeth probably wont' remember it, but she really had a good time that night. Even my brother David seemed to be having fun. Nicole and I got to experience Mother's Day and Father's Day for the first time in 2002. It is a memory that will last a lifetime.
