Daniel Bullocks scored 1 of 3 defensive touchdowns for the Blackshirts with a 30 yard fumble return.
The Blackshirts are back with their second game of total dominance. The Blackshirts accounted for 3 touchdowns on the way to a 31 to 3 victory over Wake Forest. For the first time this year, the Husker offense showed some signs of life in the second half of the game.

What a performance by the Blackshirts defense! Let's start with the 3 touchdowns. In the 1st quarter LB Corey McKeon started it off with a 38 yard interception for a touchdown. Not to be outdone, SS Daniel Bullocks forced a fumble later in the 1st quarter and returned it for a 30 yard touchdown. LB Stewart Bradley put the final nail in the coffin with a 43 yard interception for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. The Blackshirts also recorded 5 more sacks to make that 16 on the year.

Let's do the math. So far this year, the Blackshirts are averaging 2 touchdowns, 8 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 2 interceptions a game. On top of that, they are only allowing 68 yards rushing and 134 passing yards per game. Not a bad start to the season.

Although the Blackshirts may give Husker fans reasons to cheer, the offense is off to a slow start. The defense may be averaging 2 touchdowns a game, but the offense is only averaging 1 touchdown a game. This isn't going to get it done, especially when the Huskers start Big 12 play.

QB Zac Taylor's stats weren't very impressive completing 14 of 33 passes and recording 1 touchdown and throwing 1 interception. Much like the last game, the Husker receivers dropped too may balls that hit them in the hands. Both WR Terrence Nunn and WR Frantz Hardy need to take a page out of WR Grant Mulkey's book on how to catch a pass. Mulkey only had 2 receptions and both of them were very impressive. Look for Taylor to seek him out more if the other receivers keep dropping the ball.

RB Cory Ross did a better job holding on to the ball this game. He also ran for 123 yards and a key 57 yard run in the second half that led to the only touchdown for the Husker offense.

I have also noticed that in the two games the Huskers have played this year, the Special Teams kick coverage has been outstanding. Guys are flying to the ball and putting a good hit on the returners. This was something that was lacking from last year's coverage. Glad to see the coaching staff make the adjustment.

The 0 and 2 Pittsburgh Panthers come calling, hungry for a win next weekend. The Blackshirt defense should prove to be too much for them. I look for the offense to do a better job of catching the ball. My prediction Nebraska 23 and Pittsburgh 9.
