Danny's Graduation

Elizabeth got to take her first airplane trip in May 2004 when we went to Nebraska for Danny's graduation. As you can see from the pictures, she started the trip out behaving very well. She was very excited about riding in an airplane. (Robert says she was pretty good the whole trip for a two year old. I beg to differ.)

Elizabeth was able to met her "new" cousins for the first time. These are Dawn's daughters and they live in Missouri so Elizabeth had not seen them before. They are Heather, Jenna and Leah.

Elizabeth truly had a wonderful time with her cousins. As you can see they played together all day. She cried and cried every time we left them asking to "play with the new cousins." She doesn't have any girl cousins in Florida so this was a special treat for her.

Almost all the cousins were together (David couldn't make it due to a family medical emergency and we all missed him very much.) The first picture is Danny with Heather, Jenna, Leah and Elizabeth. The next is Dawn and Michael together. Then Michael gave a short concert with his bass guitar for the girls. He had a very captive audience and they all cheered when he was done. The next pictures are of Danny's graduation cakes and of Dawn, Lori and Mom while Dawn was decorating them. Dawn definitely has a talent for baking. The cake was great and so were the cupcakes that we talked her into making later that day.

Danny was very happy to graduate and get out of high school. He is pictured with his girlfriend and Michael in the first picture. The next is of Danny, Michael and Terry. Although the last one isn't quite flattering to Danny, he wasn't around much to get pictures of him, (he had a lot to do to get ready to graduate and you know 18 year olds, they don't really want to hang around with their family) so I included this one anyway.

Robert and I enjoyed the change in scenery from Tampa. We decided to drive around town and take some pictures of buildings we really liked. The Catholic church was gorgeous and the rest are of houses that were interesting. We enjoyed the small town atmosphere as a change of pace, but I am definitely a big city girl now.

Well, I guess you can't go to the midwest without encountering a storm. As we were enjoying Danny's graduation party, the tornado warning sirens went off and a tornado went through a town about 15 miles away. When we woke up the next morning to go to the airport, we saw the Pizza Hut sign mangled by the wind. The next picture is of a wall on a gas station. You can definitely tell we were in Husker country. The last picture is of a sign outside of Wahoo. I just cracked up laughing when I saw their claim to fame, the home of five famous people. I guess when you are a small town, you take what you can get.
