Nicole's Graduation

May 1, 2004 - Nicole's graduation finally arrived. She received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. I am very proud of her accomplishment. She completed two years at USF in 1 1/2 years while working full time. She was also able to maintain a high GPA and graduated summa cum laude. I think it is important that Elizabeth have a strong female role model in her life and I'm glad it's her mother. As you can see in the pictures below, Elizabeth really looks up to her mother.

The two pictures below were taken right after the ceremony was over. The first is obviously me and Nicole. I wish I smiled more, because I was really happy. However, I was ill and not feeling myself. This doesn't mean I wasn't proud of her. The second picture is Nicole with a friend of hers from work, Kelly Hoffman.

Click on the pictures below and see videos of Nicole's graduation ceremony. I was a little worried about how they would turn out, because we arrived late and were sitting as far away as you possibly could sit. My father and I tried to take pictures with our cameras, but we were too far away for any of them to come out. Therefore, I used the camcorder and think they turned out pretty well. I had fun watching Nicole sitting around waiting to have her name called. She looked very happy and excited. If you look at the last video clip, you will see how fast she is walking across the stage and didn't even stop to shake the President's and Dean's hands as she walked by. I could tell she was really nervous and ready to get it over with and move on to the next step.

These pictures are of the graduation program. As you can see Tommy Franks was given an honorary degree and spoke at the ceremony. He received a standing ovation when he was introduced. His speech was very patriotic and emotional. Nicole said that as he walked down the aisle he was telling all the graduates how proud of them he was. The last picture shows Nicole's name. She graduated summa cum laude and I couldn't be more proud of her for all her hard work.

You guys may recognize the invitation below. I made this for Nicole. We'll buy the invitations the next time around.

I would like to thank everybody who came to the ceremony, sent cards or called. It was a very happy day and was special for Nicole. To my wife, I can't begin to tell you how proud I am to be your husband. I love you very much and know you will do well at Stetson.

Love,
Robert Cameron
