Robert's Graduation
May 31, 2003 - The day has finally arrived! Robert graduated today in Sarasota with 122 other classmates. The ceremony was very nice and although I swore I wouldn't cry, I did of course. We are so proud of Robert and these are a few pictures we took at home before the ceremony. For those who don't know, the first picture is with his mom. (She cried too, so I'm not the only blubbering idiot.)
This is a picture of the administrators and the professors. The keynote speaker was a professor. She was very good and was one of the more interesting speakers I have heard at these kind of ceremonies. The ceremony lasted approximately 1 1/2 hours and I felt the professors actually cared for their students and were proud of their accomplishments.
After the ceremony, we took some more pictures. The first picture is Robert with his degree. The second two are Robert with me and Elizabeth outside the performing arts center. You can see the water behind us and it was a wonderful backdrop on a beautiful day in Florida. It was picture perfect for Robert's graduation.
This is a layout of the program for the ceremony and you can see Robert's name in the first section. He was one of the first groups to get his diploma and it was really hard sitting in the auditorium waiting for the rest of the graduates to get their degrees.
This is a picture of Robert's actual degree! Way to go Robert! (Now he's thinking of going back to get his Master's. He has to wait his turn though!)
